Budweiser Budvar Brewery

Without visiting this Brewery and tasting world-famous beer, one of the greatest treasures of the Czech Republic, you simply cannot leave the city of České Budějovice. You will fondly remember visits to the local restaurants and the quantity of consumed beer.

In České Budějovice, it is possible to get to know the production of one of the most famous beers in the world – Budvar, which is known as Budweis or Budweiser. The brewery is located in a complex of modern buildings in Karolína Světlá Street. The price of the excursion includes a tasting of the pale lager Budweiser Budvar. The total beer production in the Budějovice Brewery is more than 1.6 million hectolitres per year. During the tour, you can learn about the history of the Budvar beer, which began in 1895 and that followed with the tradition of beer brewing, which dates back almost 750 years. Visitors will also be acquainted with the dispute between the Budweiser Budvar Brewery and the American Anheuser-Busch Brewery about trademark ownership.

How to get there?

The Visitors’ Center of the brewery is located at the crossroads of Karolína Světlá Street and Pražská tř. Street. We recommend using public transport by bus (line No. 2) to the Budvar stop. For the return to the city center, it will be better (due to the tasting of the brewing products) to use public transport once more.
